Monster Hunter Now joins the growing list of MMOs celebrating the Year of the Dragon with Lunar New Year-themed events and in-game goodies up for grabs in the augmented reality mobile game. The two-phase event kicked off at the top of the month, sending players off to gather Fortune Lanterns and hunt specific monsters as they make their way around the real world.

Phase two kicked off yesterday, adding new themed events in the form of six-star hunting quests and the hunt for Pink Rathian.

“You can look forward to hunting Pink Rathian in the field and at Hunt-a-thon Points, as well as gathering Fortune Lanterns for time-limited event quests,” says Capcom. “Don’t forget to grab event-exclusive equipment, including a new dragon-element hammer and dual blades, and head armor with Critical Boost!”

Participating in the event quests and hunts will reward players with event tickets that can be used to craft and upgrade exclusive Year of the Dragon-themed gear: the Dragon Dance Mask, Lucky Dragon Hammer, and Fortune Dragon Fans.

The event will run until February 15, which gives you a few more days to celebrate the Lunar New Year by running around the real world in search of Fortune Lanterns, the elusive Pink Rathian, and other monsters on your hunting list.
