Meet The Four Starting Patrons Of Elder Scroll Online’s Tales Of Tribute Card Game

ZeniMax Online Studios has dropped another Elder Scrolls Online: High Isle preview blog that dives deeper into the new Tales of Tribute card game. As previously revealed, Tales of Tribute will function much like other standalone collectible card games with slightly different card mechanics. Players will have access to four starter card decks, each represented by a different Patron. We now get a more in-depth look at the four Patrons and their different playstyles.
“When playing Tales of Tribute, the competitive card game arriving with High Isle Chapter, you’ll need to master the four starting patrons. This includes acquiring the cards their decks add to the Tavern and making the most out of their unique abilities.”
The four starting Patrons are: Duke of Crows, Grandmaster Delmene Hlaalu, Saint Pelin, and Psijic Loremaster Celarus. Duke of Crows cards focus on chaining combos to draw more and more cards from the deck, Grandmaster Delmene is all about generating lots of Coin to play expensive cards, Saint Pelin specializes in generating Power and quickly getting agent cards with taunt on the board, while Loremaster Celarus allows players to sift through the top of their draw pile and deny their opponents access to the cards in the Tavern, a pool of five cards that both players acquire cards from during the match.
Each Patron also comes with a unique ability related to their respective playstyles. Loremaster Celarus’ ability, for example, helps players control their opponent’s side of the board, while Saint Pelin’s ability allows players to call on reinforcements and quickly get them onto the field.
Players will also be able to unlock four additional Patrons as they progress through High Isle’s content and unlock Achievements. They’ll also get to meet interesting characters through the new card game, including a fun-loving and talkative Wood Elf named Braghas, voiced by Billy Boyd who played Pippin in Peter Jackson’s film adaptation of The Lord of the Rings.
High Isle is slated to launch on PC and Mac on June 6th and on PlayStation and Xbox consoles on June 21st. In the meantime, you can find out more about the starting Patrons on the Elder Scrolls Online official site.
