Marvel’s Avengers will be free-to-play for the entirety of next weekend to celebrate the start of the game’s summer season and the launch of the multiple-hero feature. The new feature will launch on July 27 alongside the Omega Level Threat: Family Reunion endgame update and multiplayer Mega Hives.

“The popular multiple-hero feature first debuted as a part of the Tachyon Anomaly event in April and allows players to form teams online with more than one of the same Super Hero for any multiplayer mission, facilitating faster and easier matchmaking.”

Players will get full, uninhibited access to the full game during the free-to-play weekend and will get to keep their progress should they decide to buy a copy of the game.

“There’s never been a better time to assemble in Marvel’s Avengers. We’re nearing our one-year anniversary, and players who jump in will get eight heroes, tons of single- and multi-player content, ongoing events, and more,” said Crystal Dynamics Co-Head of Studio Scot Amos. “In addition, we have the War for Wakanda expansion coming in August, so now is a great opportunity to get started so you’re ready to play as Black Panther and take on Klaw with the rest of the Avengers.”

The all-access weekend will be available on PC via Steam, Google Stadia, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. A PlayStation Plus subscription is also required for online play on PlayStation consoles. The team is still working with Microsoft for an all-access weekend on the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
