Mutliplayer Solarpunk Loftia Has Raised Over $300K On Kickstarter In One Day

Another cozy multiplayer game is set to arrive sometime in the future as Sydney-based Qloud Games kicks off a Kickstarter campaign for solarpunk title, Loftia - and it might have just set the record for the fastest game to reach its funding goal.
The crowdfunding campaign has managed to raise more than $300,000 from nearly 5,000 backers in its first day alone and surpassed its initial funding goal of $150,000 in just a few hours. Backers have unlocked four out of the eight stretch goals and are just $42,000 away from unlocking the next stretch goal as of this writing. Unlocked stretch goals include a pet haven, fishing system, aquaponics farming, and thrift store.
Loftia is being billed as a cozy social game with absolutely no combat. Up to 10 players will be able to work together to build a settlement, engage in sustainable farming, and explore multiple biomes in the colorful eco-friendly world. Players will also have access to a wide array of customization options and housing modules and decorations.
The studio, however, has labelled it as an MMO despite its worlds being limited to just 10 players. “What we do know is that out of all the terms that exist, ‘MMO’ is still the most succinct and precise description of Loftia, even if it isn’t perfect,” said the devs.
The base game which comes with an early access key will set you back $30 on the Kickstarter page. More expensive backer tiers will come with extra copies as well as exclusive cosmetics, furniture, pets, titles and more. If you’ve got cash to burn, you can immortalize yourself in the game as an NPC for the low price of just $5,000.
Alpha testing is expected to start sometime next year, followed by an early access launch in 2025, and full release in 2026. The game will be available on PC, Mac, and Nintendo Switch.
