Last Epoch Is Still Struggling With Login And Disconnection Issues A Week After Full Release

Since 2023 officially began, we’ve seen several games launch into immediate stardom, all of which are paying the price for their popularity with persistent launch issues. Among those games is Last Epoch, which continues to wrestle with login and disconnection issues. The login problems in particular are being compounded by misleading error messages indicating that the servers are offline when they’re actually up and running.

Developer Eleventh Hour Games says it’s aware of the issue and is currently working on a fix. They’re also investigating a spike in disconnection, scene transition, and login issues. In the meantime, the studio advises players who encounter the “online play unavailable” message during character selection to try logging in again. “The servers are not down but it may take more than one attempt to assign a game server,” the devs explain on Discord.

Meanwhile peak concurrency numbers on Steam are still averaging at around 215,000 players, a 3000% increase compared to pre-Version 1.0 numbers. The studio is also regularly releasing updates to improve server stability and performance, the most recent of which landed yesterday.
