Krafton Acquires Eleventh Hour Games for $96 Million, Adding Last Epoch to Its Portfolio

Krafton, the South Korean publisher best known for PUBG: Battlegrounds, is broadening its lineup with the full acquisition of Eleventh Hour Games. The Oregon-based studio launched the action RPG Last Epoch earlier this year and has already moved more than three million copies on PC, an impressive feat in a genre dominated by pillars like Diablo and Path of Exile.

The deal, valued at USD 96 million, gives Krafton a foothold in a market segment it has largely missed while giving Eleventh Hour Games the resources to bring Last Epoch to consoles and expand its seasonal update cadence. The studio will keep creative control, operating as an independent subsidiary.

  • Eleventh Hour Games was founded in 2018 by ARPG fans who met on Reddit.
  • Last Epoch hit version 1.0 in February 2024 and blends time-traveling story hooks with deep skill-tree customization.
  • The game surpassed three million sales and has posted strong peak-concurrent numbers on Steam since launch.
  • Krafton now owns 100 percent of the studio but says EHG leadership will stay in place.
  • Funding will target console ports, larger live-service support, and an expanded content roadmap.

For Krafton, whose revenue still leans heavily on PUBG, the move diversifies its catalog at a moment when live-service ARPGs are drawing significant player attention. For Eleventh Hour Games, it is a chance to scale without surrendering the community-first ethos that helped Last Epoch stand out in a crowded field. Unlike Path of Exile, Last Epoch is not free to play. It's $34.99 on Steam. While the current playerbase is averaging just 2,850 players, the game's numbers spike after big seasonal updates, similar to Path of Exile.
