It's Official: WildStar Goes Free to Play In Fall
After all of the controversy and speculation, WildStar has announced that the Sci-Fi MMORPG is going free-to-play sometime this fall. Let's take a look into what this means for current subscribers:
All active accounts when the free to play transition occurs, will be receiving exclusive cosmetic items: Ikthian Crawler Mount, DJ Caretaker Housing Item, Disco Snoglug companion pet, a new housing music track, four months of signature service and two titles: "Living Legend" and "Nexus Loyalist". The bonuses will be automatically added to active accounts on the first day of free-to-play service.

All accounts that have also purchased a game box will receive legacy benefits such as:
- 12 character slots up from 2 for free-to-play
- 6 costume slots up from 4
- 5 personal bank slots up from 2
- 2000 decor items up from 1000
Wildstar is also introducing a loyalty system, that grants points based on total subscription time as well as box-type purchased. These points will be applied retroactively to all accounts and offer bonuses (such as crafting and gathering bonuses) that stack with Signature benefits. Signature benefits are applied to accounts that choose to continue subscription into the game's free-to-play status such as bonus exp, queue bypassing, higher auction house slots, customer service priority and more.
As the game goes into free-to-play, players can expect more or less the same game content wise... with all free players able to access the full extent of the game's content.
