Honkai: Star Rail’s Version 3.5 Rolls Out 13 August with New Story Arc and Playable Heroes

HoYoverse has locked in 13 August 2025 for Honkai: Star Rail’s next major update, Version 3.5 “Before Their Deaths.” The patch continues the multi-chapter Amphorean storyline that has been unfolding since last year and drops players into a fresh slice of lore set a thousand years in the past. Alongside the narrative push, two five-star characters (Hysilens and Imperator Cerydra) join the roster.

3.5 Highlights Include:

• New characters:
  • Hysilens (Physical / Nihility) focuses on damage-over-time (DoT) zones that lower enemy ATK and DEF.
  • Imperator Cerydra (Wind / Harmony) buffs a designated ally with stacking “Military Merit,” boosting ATK, CRIT DMG, and RES PEN.
• Returning banners: Stellaron Hunters Kafka and Silver Wolf headline the first and second halves of the warp event.
• Story mission: Players revisit ancient Okhema during the Eternal Recurrence, dealing with the law-bearing ruler Cerydra and the fallout of the Deliverer’s promise to Phainon.
• New area: Styxia, the City of Infinite Revelry, introduces enemy Lygus, who switches between two combat forms.
• Limited-time events:
  • “Chrysos Maze Grand Restaurant” restaurant-management mini-game in Aedes Elysiae.
  • “Old Brews & New Friends” bartender event at Dreamjolt Hostelry, featuring returning NPCs.
• Quality-of-life: Voice-toggle option lets collaboration characters switch between in-game dubbing and original licensed voice actors.
• Community outreach: HoYoverse will demo the patch at Gamescom with on-site giveaways.
