Things aren’t looking good for Google Stadia as several high-profile employees jump ship, including Vice President and Head of Product at Stadia John Justice. Justice has yet to update his LinkedIn account but a Google representative confirmed his departure from the company in a statement to 9to5Google.

“We can confirm John is no longer with Google and we wish him well on his next step,” the representative said.

As VP and Head of Product, Justice oversaw the consumer experience for Stadia and would regularly talk about future plans and updates to the game streaming service. Since December, however, he has been avoiding announcing and talking about new features before they were actually ready for release and updates would roll out quietly on Stadia several days or weeks before they were officially announced.

On the subject of new features, a search bar has recently been added to the platform along with filtering and sorting options in the web library view.

Justice’s and six other employees’ departure from Google follows a stream of concerning events within the company, which includes the closure of Stadia’s internal development studios and reports of poor management. Whether this is merely a shuffling of Stadia’s management or a prelude to its shutdown still remains to be seen. We’ll keep you in the loop.
