EVE Online Saw Its Highest Players Numbers Since October 2020 This Past Weekend

EVE Online saw a huge spike in its player numbers over the weekend following the launch of its Havoc expansion last week. Concurrency numbers have been on an upward trend since the expansion’s release and peaked at just over 40,000 players on Sunday, the highest it’s been since October 2020.
Video game blogger The Nosy Gamer attributes last Sunday’s impressive turnout to various in-game events happening around the same time, including major alliance movements, pirate insurgencies, and the 7-day free Omega subscription that handed out over the weekend. Only time will tell whether the trend will continue this Thanksgiving weekend.
Speaking of pirate insurgencies, both the newly playable Angel Cartel and Guristas Pirates were able to score their first insurgency victories this past week as Varn becomes the next hotbed of pirate activity. After a disappointing third quarter, it looks like things are now looking up for CCP Games and the sci-fi MMO.
The Angels and Guristas have both won their first insurgencies!
Chaos continues on Wednesday in the system of Vard. Will the pirates have similar dominance, or will hubris be their downfall?
What are your predictions #Tweetfleet?
