Divinity Original Sin 2 Hits Kickstarter Running
Larian Studios— creators of the revolutionary multiplayer rpg, Divinity: Original Sin— have released a Kickstarter for the game's sequel. Divinity: Original Sin 2 has hit Kickstarter running— already raising over 1 million USD of their 500,000 USD goal.
Since Larian already has the groundwork set from the first game, they're able to focus a lot more on new features and content. The biggest feature that is being added is four-player multiplayer co-op or competitive gameplay. While the game is still playable single-player, players can come together after creating characters of different races and backgrounds— each of these affecting how the game world interacts with you. The characters can work together cooperatively, but might find themselves falling out during the story as each player character is allowed to factor in with the game's roleplay system. In the case that this happens, one player might even find himself become an antagonist!
Player versus player is possible, and in one example... an alchemist player mixes a poison into a healing potion before giving it to his party member to sabotage them. In another example— a player rats out another by telling the guard that a person matching his description is smuggling contraband.
We might be looking at the multiplayer game that puts the rp back in rpg!
You can back the Kickstater here for your own copy for only 26 USD, and I speculate that the release price will be 39.99 like D:OS.
