Diablo 4 Kicks Off Its Pre-Order, KFC-Powered, Early Access Weekend Beta Test

Diablo 4’s first beta test is now underway and will be open throughout the weekend for those who pre-ordered the game or stuffed themselves with finger lickin’ good sandwiches.
As part of a cross-marketing promotion with KFC, Blizzard will be giving away beta keys to anyone in the US who orders either a Double Down or Chicken Sandwich through the KFC app or website. Some users, however, are apparently ordering KFC just for the keys with no intention of actually eating or even picking up the meal. Vegan gamers have also expressed disapproval at being required to buy a “dead chicken” to get a beta key.
As for the beta test itself, it’s going to run until March 19th and will allow eligible players to explore Fractured Peaks, the first zone in the game, as well as the Prologue and Act 1. The maximum level is capped at 25 and playable classes are limited to the Barbarian, Rogue, and Sorcerer, with the Druid and Necromancer set to be unlocked in next weekend’s open beta test. Players will also only be able to create a maximum of 10 characters, which should be more than enough for a two-day test.
All progress during this weekend’s closed beta will carry over to next weekend’s test but will be wiped prior to Diablo 4’s official launch on June 6th. Testers, however, will get to keep any rewards they earn during the beta which includes a wolf pack cosmetic and two exclusive titles.
See you in Sanctuary!
