Diablo 4 Players Call For Devs To Fix The Gauntlet Exploit Before The Weekly Server Reset

Diablo 4 players are crying foul over an exploit that allowed several crafty players to boost their scores in The Gauntlet, the game’s new speedrun dungeon, propelling some of them to the top of the dungeon’s weekly leaderboards.

For context, The Gauntlet is a timed, fixed layout endgame dungeon that challenges players to gather as many Proofs of Might as they can from fallen mobs and chests within the eight-minute time limit. The key is to find the best route through the dungeon and hit every Shrine to take advantage of their effects and give you a temporary speed boost. The layout change will be changed and the leaderboards purged every week, giving players a fresh challenge to take on until the layout changes again.

Players apparently found out that you could enter The Gauntlet with a buff from Shrines in the open world, giving them a significant advantage over players who start the speedrun without a buff. It also allows players to create more powerful builds in tandem with the open world buff. Sorcerers, for example, can greatly benefit from the unlimited mana buff granted by the Channeling Shrine which can’t be found inside the dungeon.

There’s also another exploit that lets players enter The Gauntlet before the timer begins, although its benefits aren’t as strongly felt as those of the Shrine exploit. The community has raised both issues with the dev team and are calling on them to fix the exploit before the weekly server reset on Thursday.

Blizzard has yet to comment on the matter and a fix wasn’t included in today’s patch either, which means that it’s going to be another exploit-filled week for the Diablo 4 community. A hotfix could still come before the weekly reset though, so don’t give up on The Gauntlet just yet.
