Rumors Suggest That Diablo 4’s First Expansion Is Already In Internal Alpha Testing

Blizzard Entertainment recently updated its latest Diablo 4 internal alpha test build with the Version 2.0 tag. Since previous patches have all been labeled as 1.x, it’s sparked rumors that the game’s first expansion might be on the horizon.

This seems to tie in with General Manager Rod Fergusson’s promise of quarterly seasons and annual expansions. It’s only been four months since the online ARPG’s launch, but eight months should be enough time to roll out an expansion. BlizzCon 2023 is also just a few weeks away, which would be as good a time as any to officially unveil the expansion or at least release a teaser to get the hype train rolling.

I probably don’t need to remind you to take this news with a grain of salt. In the meantime, we can look forward to the start of Diablo 4’s Season of the Blood on October 17th.
