Daybreak's Job Posting Sparks Rumors That EverQuest 3 Is Coming

It looks like Daybreak Games is finally working on another MMO following its failed attempt at EverQuest Next 7 years ago. The company recently posted a job listing for a creative director with experience developing MMOs and pre-existing IPs to oversee a new unannounced game.

There’s speculation that the unannounced title could be the long-rumored and highly-awaited EverQuest 3 since the “core pillars” of the project line up with an EverQuest-type MMO. The posting also revealed that the game will feature a high-fantasy theme that will focus on exploration, community, fairness, and escape. It’s also worth noting that the creative director will be working under Darkpaw Games, the studio exclusively working on the EverQuest franchise.

“We build alternative worlds where players can take a break from real life or want to get a feeling of exploring something new with a sense of danger (high fantasy exploration),” wrote Daybreak.

It’s probably going to be years before the project takes shape but we’ll keep a close eye out for any rumors, leaks, or news.
