Cinderstone Online Bids Farewell Just Two Months After Its Early Access Launch

Cinderstone Online, formerly known as Fioresia Online, will be shutting down just two months after it launched into early access in September. As you might have guessed from its extremely short lifespan, the cutesy indie MMO didn’t attract as much attention as its developers had hoped.
“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Cinderstone Online servers,” Codevision said. “After four years of continuous development, dreams, and dedication, we’ve come to a difficult realization. Despite our best efforts, Cinderstone Online hasn’t attracted the audience we hoped for, nor has it developed the features and content necessary to thrive.”
“We wanted to keep our world alive as long as possible, but the reality is, the costs have surpassed our earnings. So, with a mix of sadness and gratitude, we’re saying goodbye to this chapter of Cinderstone Online,” the studio added.
It’s not the end of the line for Cinderstone Online though, as Codevision promises to breathe new life into the game and relaunch it with a free-to-play business model. Those who previously purchased the game, however, will still get to enjoy the perks and benefits that originally came with their purchase.
There’s currently no release timeline for the free-to-play version and the original version has now been pulled from Steam. In the meantime, all we can do is wait.
