Blizzard Entertainment just can’t seem to make up their mind when it comes to whether or not they’ll be introducing additional customization options in World of Warcraft.

When the Shadowlands expansion first came out, the studio promised that they would be adding more customization options for each of the available races post-launch. They would later backtrack on that promise a few months later during this year’s BlizzConline. Now it seems that the team is back to working on the said customization options, with the first batch planned for release with Patch 9.1.5.

“Shadowlands brought a whole array of new customization options to the player races in World of Warcraft, but there were a few of the Allied Races that didn’t get as much attention as the rest,” said Blizzard. “Back at BlizzConline in February, we stated that we had no plans to add additional customization options until after Shadowlands, but after hearing the passionate feedback around the issue, we looked into whether we could implement more options sooner.”

The first batch of new customization options include new hairstyles, tattoos, hair and skin colors, tentacle styles, and adjustable tail length for both the Lightforged and Nightborne Draenei. New Druid Travel forms and Night Fae Soulshape abilities will also be introduced with the update. New customization options for the Highmountain Tauren are planned for a later update.

Blizzard has yet to announce an exact release date for Patch 9.1.5 but players are expecting it to come out sometime in early October based on the studio’s update cadence. Details can be found on the World of Warcraft official forums.
