Blade & Soul Heroes Arrives Worldwide With Cross-Platform Play

NC America has released Blade & Soul Heroes, a free-to-play collectible action MMORPG that lands today on Steam, the publisher’s PURPLE launcher, iOS, and Android. The game acts as a narrative prequel to the long-running PC MMORPG Blade & Soul, but trades the original’s purely real-time combat for a hybrid system that blends action controls with turn-based encounters.

The launch plants NC America in a crowded field of gacha-style action RPGs while giving veteran Blade & Soul players a chance to revisit familiar names like Poharan and Yura. While the game is available on PC, it is clearly a mobile game first. The game hit a peak of 2,999 concurrent players on Steam on launch day, which is impressivee, but user reviews were mixed.

Main Features At Launch

  • 40-plus playable characters to collect at day one, each fitting into five-member squads that can be swapped on the fly.
  • Dual combat system – real-time action for exploration that can switch to turn-based battles for PvE and PvP encounters.
  • Cross-platform progression lets PC and mobile players share one account and party up regardless of device.
  • In-game currency fuels character acquisition and can be earned through play or purchased.

Changes For The Global Version

  • Reworked early game with faster pacing, shorter tutorials, and optional cut-scene skips.
  • Expanded story content such as “Chronicles,” giving new protagonist Yusol a dedicated backstory arc.
  • Free Exalted-tier hero on clan creation to help players build a functional team quickly.
  • Smoother combat flow thanks to an extra dash command, more rewarding parry timing, and the removal of auto-pathing in main quests.
  • Gear sharing overhaul – one item can now be equipped by up to 20 heroes instead of four, easing party experimentation.
  • Difficulty settings for Boss Trials aimed at both casual and hardcore players.

First Post-Launch Update: “Scorching Sands” September 30

  • New region to explore, raising the level cap from 30 to 40.
  • Field boss “Stalker Jiangshi” pulled from classic Blade & Soul lore.
  • Additional solo and party bosses, instanced dungeons, and turn-based challenges.
