Battleborn's First Free DLC Hero Alani Enters The Fray On May 31st

2K and Gearbox Software announced today that Battleborn's first free DLC hero, Alani, will be entering the fray on May 31st. Season Pass holders and those who took part in the PS4 Open Beta will be given a key to unlock her a week earlier on May 24th. Alani is described as follows.

A member of the Eldrid faction who was raised as a healer, but forced to be a warrior, Alani is all that remains of her order after Rendain’s Jennerit Imperium stole the oceans from her world. As a warrior from a planet with vast seas, Alani’s attacks and abilities revolve around her power to control water to dish out pain, or heal her fellow Battleborn.

A more complete description of Alani and her abilities will be revealed during her soft-launch on May 24th.

Additionally, a Double XP weekend will run from May 20th at 8 PM PDT to May 25th at 8 PM PDT. This applies to "Command Rank and Character Rank experience in all Story Mode missions and Competitive Multiplayer matches." Players playing from anywhere on any platform will be able to reap the benefits of this event.
