Battleborn Ending Development, Servers to Remain Open Though

Gearbox Software announced over the weekend that Battleborn's next update will be its last. The game won't be shutting down though, at least not immediately. Players will be able to continue playing the game for some time but don't expect any future updates or support. While sad, this news isn't particularly surprising. The game's playerbase has been in decline ever since the game first launched on May 3, 2016. While Battleborn did enjoy a small increase in playerbase when it went free to play, it was too little too late. For the time being, Battleborn only averages ~70 or so players online at any given time according to Steamcharts.
The game's creative director Randy Varnell posted the announcement on the game's forums and talked about the upcoming Fall Update which will add new skins, updated title art, finisher boosts, taunts, bug fixes, and more.
