Aventurine Look To Expand Darkfall's Economy With Latest Patch

Darkfall has just received a patch that aims to give players a reason to go out in the world and actively play the game, as well as give the game's full loot system meaning again by making players value high-level items more. The game server has essentially undergone a "soft wipe" in which all rare resources and gear are now "Aged." Aged gear has a -4 debuff for each protection, and aged rare resources are no longer able to be used in new recipes. Rare resources can be converted to new resources, which can only be found in specific locations now, at a rate of 100:1 and are otherwise worthless. New gear has a buff of +3 for each protection, as opposed to simply not having a debuff.

Other notable changes include essences no longer being dropped by the environment, as well as not being used in crafting recipes, replaced by rare ores. These rare ores can only be found in a few locations, with what the developers call the "best" place to find them being "Clan City Nodes." Only between two and eight clan cities, depending on the resource, will be able to produce each resource.

Many other changes, such as the change from dropped housing deeds to a housing deed crafting recipe, have been made that can be viewed at the link above. This update is considered the "largest in scope and importance to ever hit Darkfall servers" and it is not hard to see why. It will be interesting to see if the economy does see more balance in the coming weeks.
