Big changes are afoot for ArcheAge and its buy-to-play counterpart, ArcheAge Unchained, as Kakao Games prepares to merge both games into one. The merge was first announced back in August and will combine 12 servers from the original game and Unchained into one big server for North America and another for Europe.

Kakao has confirmed that the merge is still on track for November 30th and preparations already underway. Tax prepay restrictions for the affected servers have been implemented as of October 26th, with auction house restrictions to follow on November 28th. Land rushes are set to begin on the merged servers at 1 p.m. PDT on December 2nd, so be sure to mark your calendars lest you lose out on your preferred plots.

Players are reminded that all character names will be changed to random values to avoid name conflicts. They’ll be able to change their character names when they login for the first time after the merge, presumably on a first-come, first-served basis. Expanded character slots will be capped at seven slots per account. All characters, however, will be retained following the merge even if they exceed the slot limit.

More information can be found on the ArcheAge official site if you want to brush up on the merge process ahead of November 30th.
