Another Gold Exploit Discovered In New World, Players Calling For Rollback

It’s another day in Aeternum, and with it another New World gold duplication exploit. Amazon had already disabled all forms of wealth transfers yesterday while they work on a solution to a duping exploit, but lo and behold, a new one springs up in its place. I got to hand it to the players though, they have been nothing if not consistent in sniffing out ways to get rich in-game.
This particular exploit, as noted by PC Gamer, was accidentally discovered following the removal of wealth transfers. It involves starting a town, fort, or lifestyle upgrade and attempting to pay for it using gold in the company treasure. Et voila! Instead of taking gold out of the company treasury the system actually adds to it. The upgrade doesn’t push through either, which means that you can keep repeating the process until you reach gold cap.
The exploit has already been reported on the continually-growing Bugs and Exploits section of the official forums and Amazon is probably already aware of it but have yet to release a comment. Ironically, reporting the bug on the forums only served to inform other players of the new get-rich-quick scheme. Players are now calling for a rollback to get rid of all the duplicate gold that has been in circulation since the discovery of the server transfer dupe.
“Every day brings more reasons for me to quit or start duping/exploiting everything,” wrote one forum user. “So much honest work, hundreds of hours spent on mining, gathering, trading, looting just for someone to get everything with 10 minutes of duping. Then the market gets flooded/destroyed.”
“I really hope this will be solved properly with widespread ban waves or global wipe since I, as a veteran MMO player am really shifting towards quiting,” he added.
