Aliens: Fireteam Elite Sees Significant Decline In Playerbase

The future isn’t looking too bright for Aliens: Fireteam Elite as the recently-released co-op shooter’s player numbers continue to drop. SteamDB data shows a 24-hour peak concurrency of just 671 players, a long way away from the 15,500 concurrent player record that the game set when it launched back in August.

That being said, the game continues to get very positive reviews on Steam and might still have a fighting chance if player numbers improve since most negative reviews are due to the lack of players, infinitely-long quickplay matchmaking, and AI-filled teams. The game’s $39.99 price tag and the recent Back 4 Blood launch, which admittedly is a more popular choice for co-op FPS players, might also be to blame for the game’s rapidly dwindling playerbase.
