Aliens: Fireteam Elite Makes Ruptured Cistern Permanent Map With New Rewards

Last month, Aliens: Fireteam Elite added a new limited-time map for Christmas called the Ruptured Cistern. The Xenomorph-infested vertical map has apparently proved to be so popular that Cold Iron Studios has decided to make it a permanent addition to the co-op shooter. The seasonal rewards associated with the map have also been replaced with new weapon colors, a new decal, and new emotes.

“We know you’ve been busy thinning the hordes of Xenomorphs in the Cistern, Marines. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed!” said the developers. “If you got the limited rewards, you’ve earned ‘em! If you haven’t, sadly, your time to collect is over. But that doesn’t mean game over. Starting today, the limited time rewards from the Winter Event have been replaced with new permanent rewards. You’ll want to boot up and hit the Cisterns again to look for those all new weapon colors, emotes, and a new decal.”

On the subject of rewards, the reward pool has been updated to make non-cosmetic items that were previously only obtainable in specific game modes, like attachments and perks, available in all game modes. Cosmetic rewards, on the other hand, will still be limited to certain game modes but have been updated to include lower difficulty rewards for Point Defense along with new rewards for the Horde and Restock Turrets game modes.
