New Eden's Future Looks Brighter Than Ever

If you have ever thought about playing Eve Online then now would be the best time to do so. The past several months has seen the famous space sandbox MMORPG go through a series of fundamental changes to much of its core gameplay. CCP Seagull, CEO of CCP Games which develops Eve Online, made a statement regarding the future of the game, and then briefly covered many upcoming changes that capsuleers across New Eden will experience in the next few months.
Eve Online has been known to scare away newcomers with its immense learning curve. When I first began playing Eve Online in 2009 I remember stumbling my way around the game for several days before I even began to grasp basic concepts. Most new players leave before they even get that far, but I was fortunately a much younger person with an open mind and a determination to blow up some internet spaceships.
Although, my newcomer experience differs greatly from what new players experience today. CCP has been making great strides to improve the “new player experience.” They understand the game needs fresh blood to keep it going, and I have to say their efforts have been pretty great so far.
However, that does not begin to scratch the surface of what they have done this year alone so far. Even casual Eve players, who have played for only a few months, will notice the changes immediately. CCP kicked off a new release cycle, featuring a rapid release of content every six weeks. Each release in the past year has brought sweeping changes to much of the core game, and added new features which have helped to shake up the meta game itself.
A recent devblog was released from CCP presenting their roadmap for the future of Eve Online. On top of that, they also updated their updates page which provides us a more thorough look into what we can expect to see in the next few months of Eve Online’s development.

If you have the time I highly recommend taking a look at the pages I linked above. Even if you are not a current player of Eve Online, you may still find much of it interesting to read.
So with all that out of the way, I want to explain exactly why I think joining Eve Online today is the best thing for anyone interested in the game to do.
New players are often turned away from veterans of the game who tell the newbros all sorts of horror stories, or make it seem like they will get nowhere because they have not played as long as they have. There are multiple examples that I could list off, but I will stop for now. We as the Eve community like to call these asshats, “bittervets”.
They are in every game, but because Eve Online’s scope is huge enough as it is, having someone tell you all of the above while you are trying to learn to play can be incredibly discouraging. Many times I have heard stories from ex-newbros of Eve Online who can relate to what I said.

Fortunately, most of those guys are beginning to disappear. The community in Eve has made great improvements in how it treats new players, mostly due to the large amount of changes that CCP has been making to the game. CCP is shocking the game right now, and the result has been nothing but positive from both a gameplay and community point of view. It is a breath of fresh air, to say the least.
Because of all of this many doors that once seemed inaccessible to new players are now well within their grasp. Eve Online is undergoing a metamorphosis stage right now, and after this winter I can almost guarantee it will be an entirely new and different game than what it has been for the past decade.
For anyone even remotely interested in blowing up internet spaceships, building their own player empires, or everything else in between, now is the perfect time to start making your first steps in New Eden.
I have played Eve Online for about six years now, and can honestly say it has held some of my best moments in gaming. The people you meet will surprise you, and the amount of depth that takes place between the countless Player Empires is incredible. If you have ever dreamed of playing a game where players actually control everything, then look no further.
I know it sounds like I am really just trying to hype Eve Online up to something to sell it to you, and to an extent I am, but I just want to make it abundantly clear to those who have never played that if you have ever been interested in what it has to offer, that now is as good as any time.
If you are scared, fret not, for I and everyone else has been there in the newbro shoes. In fact, some months back I made a rather lengthy blog post of my experiences leading up to a few weeks ago. Yep, I wrote everything I could possibly remember from 2009 until 2015 of my Eve Online experience. If you do decide to take the leap and become a capsuleer in New Eden, you can always reach me in-game for help and whatever else I can provide. My in-game name is – Ellegos1.
You can use my referral link to sign up which gives you an extended trial period, and if you do subscribe to Eve, I will receive a PLEX which can be used to give you an additional 30 days of game time, or you can sell it for some good starting to cash. Just catch up with me in-game and I will shoot it your way!
