Black Desert Online KR Previews Blader Awakening

black-desert-online-blader-awakening

With the Blader launching in the West as the Musa tomorrow, now seems like the perfect time to reveal the class' awakening. As we have seen previously, the Blader wields a polearm similar to a naginata or a woldo. With the crescent-shaped blade, the awakening weapon gives the Blader extended range to the point that almost every attack in the video appears to be an AoE of some sort. Most of the skill effects include fire.

Daum has not yet announced when awakenings will be making their way to the West. You can, however, watch the teaser trailer below to get an idea of whether the Blader—or Musa—is a class you will want to stick with long term.

Black Desert Online Gives Everyone A Free Character Slot

black-desert-online-maehwa

With the addition of the Musa and Maehwa classes a mere two days away, Black Desert Online players were undoubtedly concerned that they would have to delete an existing character in order to try the classes out. Due to the way energy is handled, creating alts is almost necessary and I have no doubt that many players have long since filled their character slots.

Fortunately, you no longer have to worry about your existing characters. Daum will be increasing the number of free character slots from four to five, effectively granting everyone an additional slot. The amount of character slots per server will be increased from nine to ten.

Aeria Games Will Publish Bless In The West

bless-published

Aeria Games has signed the dotted line with Neowiz Games, finalizing a deal to publish Bless in North America and Europe, according to 2p.com. No announcement date has been made yet. And considering the Korean Open Beta launched on January 27th we may not see a localized Bless until the latter half of the summer.

Bless is a medieval fantasy MMORPG built on Unreal Engine 3. The game's world is torn apart by two factions (sound familiar?) and Neowiz touts a highly narrative driven experience.

Publisher Aeria Games is not immune to controversy, and many commentators already fear that Bless will be a pay-to-win title.

Redditor Myzzrym claims to have worked at Aeria Games, being responsible for the monetization of Aura Kingdom. He stated in a post:

Hey there guys,

I was working at Aeria Games until very recently. To be honest, they have been trying to move away from P2W these last 2 years. Aura Kingdom and Echo of Soul cash shops are nowhere close to Shaiya for instance. Hopefully if they keep going that way we might get a non-P2W game for BLESS.

That being said... "Not to mention, Aeria has some shit servers" => I agree, we used to complain a lot about the servers ourselves. Probably has to do with the choice of data centers to start with. They are working on changing that, fingers crossed to get that by the time BLESS is out.

Cheers,

Myzzrym

While we can't confirm that Myzzrym's statements are true, it seems premature to call Bless pay-to-win before the game has even released. Basing unknown facts on a publishers other titles can be helpful but it doesn't lead to concrete proofs. Only time will tell.

What do you think of Neowiz's publishing deal with Aeria Games?

Tree Of Life Goes Beta

tree-of-life-new-male-character-model

Following almost a year on Steam Early Access, Tree of Life has officially gone Beta. The inaugural Beta patch brings in a number of major changes, including new character models. The game now features "beautiful female toon with a lovely face, and handsome male toon with a sexy muscular body." Beards and make-up have been added alongside the new character models.

The new player experience has been altered. There are now two starting points per area for a total of six. The game will randomly choose a starting point for you when you first enter the game world. New players and their buildings will only take 10% of the normal amount of damage from other players until they reach a specific level of mastery or go red.

A number of items have been rebalanced, new terrain and "secret places" have been added, and an in-game item store will be opening soon. You can find the full patch notes here.

To commemorate reaching Beta, Tree of Life is 30% off until May 2nd. A small Facebook event with in-game prizes is running here.

The Black Death Reveals Early Access Trailer

the-black-death-early-access-trailer-banner
Survival game The Black Death will be entering Early Access on April 19, 2016, and publisher Green Man Loaded has unveiled a new trailer to show off the game.

The Black Death is set in a 8km² Medieval Europe during a devastating plague. Players will pursue professions, such as blacksmith or filthy peasant, explore the lands for resources, and trade to earn coin. What peaks my interest is its self-proclaimed unique combat system where the victor must time their swings and parries.

While the game's price on Steam hasn't been set yet, interested played can purchase The Black Death through Green Man Gaming for $19.99.

CCR Files RF Online 2 Trademark

rf-online-2-logo

RF Online was originally launched in the West in 2006 as a pay-to-play title published by Codemasters. The service lasted only two years before being shut down when the license expired. Following the shut down, developer CCR decided to re-publish it itself before moving to GamesCampus. RedFox Games is currently publishing the title. Over the years, RF Online has developed a small, but dedicated, audience in its ten years running due to its sci-fi/fantasy hybrid setting, its RvR features, and the fairly unique ability to pilot mechs in an MMORPG setting.

Today, MMOCulture discovered that CCR has filed a trademark for RF Online II, a "downloadable software" title that is being made for multiple platforms. Interestingly enough, virtual reality is listed as one of those platforms.

No other information has been revealed as of yet. With any luck, CCR will make an official announcement soon.
