Atlas Reactor Is Hosting Another Free Weekend

atlas-reactor-elle-oz-fight

Atlas Reactor may have just entered a Founder's Pack-supported Closed Beta two weeks ago, but that isn't stopping Trion from opening the game up to everyone for another weekend. From now until 11:59 PDT tomorrow, anyone can download and play Atlas Reactor. All Founders will receive "3 bonus GG Boosts each day they log in during the event." These boosts will stack with "the Party bonus that you get from playing with friends."

The free weekend comes shortly after the introduction of a new map and Season 1: Chapter 2. The initial Closed Beta patch also introduced a new Freelancer named Elle, a Spectator mode, and more. Those who play this weekend will have access to all of these new features.

The Secret World Opens Free Trials To Everyone

the-secret-world-1

If you've been interested in The Secret World for some time now, but haven't been able to bring yourself to drop the $30 or $60 on it, you will be happy to learn that free trials are now open to everyone. No longer do you need a buddy key from someone who owns the game. You can simply head over to the official website, sign up, and get 10 days of play completely free.

Earlier this year, Funcom made major changes to The Secret World's combat. More recently, Issue #14 took players to Egypt to play through a story inspired by One Thousand and One Nights. Now is as good of a time as ever to jump in and try the game out.

Atulos Online Launches On Steam

atulos-online-dungeon

Following a successful Greenlight campaign earlier this year, the now 10 year old indie MMORPG Atulos Online has officially launched on Steam. The game's free edition can be downloaded and played through Steam right now. According to the website, the Premier Edition will follow as DLC in the near future.

Early Steam reviews mention an issue in which the game was not accepting character names, but it is said to have been sorted out. Players can now jump in and beginning leveling unhindered.

Dreadnought Gameplay - First Look

Dreadnought Gameplay First Look - MMOs.com

Dreadnought Gameplay First Look by Omer

Dreadnought is a free to play sci-fi space shooter simulator published by Greybox that feels a bit like World of Warships, except with giant ships in space. The gameplay is strategic and slower paced than a typical shooter, but it's supposed to be that way. Teamwork and skillful play are key to winning. The video above was recorded during closed beta - shoutouts to Darth Lasagna for hitting me up with a closed beta key <3. Even though these tactical games aren't usually my cup of tea, I enjoyed Dreadnought! The newbie ship I used can't be customized, so I'm curious how much depth the customization will have.

The Division Gets New Cheat Detection Methods, Better Communication Regarding Exploits

the-division-open-beta

Ubisoft announced today in a new blog post that they are taking new measures to cut down on cheats and bug exploits in The Division. New cheat detection methods have been implemented, with further upgrades currently being worked on. "We have already caught more cheaters in the last few days than we had in total during the previous weeks," the post states, "As a result, we will be handing out the biggest wave of suspensions and bans to date over the course of the next few days." Each cheater will be given a 14-day suspension the first time they are caught, up from the previous 3-day suspensions that were given out for the first offense. The second time a cheater is caught, they will be permanently banned.

Ubisoft will also work to identify whether a bug can be used as an exploit more quickly, listing each exploit in a forum post where players can find them easily. The new definition given for an exploit is "the active triggering and use of a bug or glitch to bypass established game rules in order to gain a significant advantage or skip progression steps otherwise necessary." Upon being caught abusing an exploit, "sanctions" will be handed out based on the severity of the exploit abuse and the player's prior offenses. Potential punishments include "character rollbacks, account suspensions, and permanent bans."

Total War Battles: KINGDOM - Life In The Realm Is Now Live

total-war-battles-kingdom-life-in-the-realm

Total War Battles: KINGDOM's first major update, Life In the Realm, is now live. The update is intended to "[add] a new dimension of character and atmosphere to your Kingdom." Additions are primarily cosmetic, as farmers can now be seen working in fields, soldiers can be seen training in barracks, and wildlife can be seen roaming the countryside.

Various Daily Rewards have been reworked, as well, though details are sparse.

Hearthstone Breaks 50 Million Registered Players

hearthstone-whispers-of-the-old-gods

Blizzard has announced that, right in time for the Whispers of the Old Gods expansion, Hearthstone has broken the 50 million registered players milestone. The announcement does not specify how many of these users are active, but 50 million have registered for the game. Given the way that Blizzard's account system works, I am assuming that all "registered players" have completed some key action, such as manually adding the game to their Battle.net account or downloading it.

Whether you are one of the 50 million yet or not, do not forget that, for a limited time, you can receive three Whispers of the Old Gods card packs by simply logging in.
