There will be various quests and rewards given throughout these events, including mounts and replica armor sets. Eden Eternal

Eden Eternal is a 3D anime-inspired fantasy MMORPG by X-Legend with a unique class system and sleek cel-shaded graphics. Unlike traditional MMORPGs, which limit players to a single class, Eden Eternal allows players to switch between any of the game's 20+ classes upon unlocking them. Classes level up individually from one another, so there's a lot of grinding to do. The game's well-designed class system keeps players hooked.

WildStar Starts the Protogames Initiative

WildStar has just launched their latest update, called the Protogames Initiative. This content update adds a variety of features to the popular online game, including a new Shiphand mission, two new dungeons, and an entirely new customization system. In addition, there are also minor item and character tweaks that address previous player concerns and feedback.

[singlepic id=2281 w=720 h=400 float=center]

The new Shiphand mission, called "They Came From Fragment Zero!" is designed for lower level players, but comes with a level 50 veteran mode. This will provide a fun experience for both new and advanced players. In a similar vein, the two new dungeons have a low level tutorial, and a high level veteran dungeon. Players will be able to learn WildStar's mechanics in the level-10 Protogames Academy, and put them to skill in The Ultimate Protogames. The WildStar staff is adamant in releasing content that has something for all players.

[singlepic id=2282 w=720 h=400 float=center]

The new character customization system is called the Character Chop Shop and is not the normal character editor. In addition to changing the usual face, hair, and body, players will also be able to view their characters with various sets of gear. As players will now be able to see how their characters will look from beginning to end, they will be able to plan and change accordingly. Along with the Character Chop Shop, WildStar has also given players the ability to customize their housing property through the use of Terrain Sets. This will let them change the surrounding area around their homes, giving a more personalized look. View the trailer below for an in-game look.

Sony Online Entertainment Becomes Daybreak Game Company

Shocking news, as Sony Online Entertainment has been acquired by investment management firm, Columbus Nova. This information was announced by CEO of SOE, John Smedley on Reddit earlier today in the H1Z1 subreddit. With this change SOE is now an independent game development studio named Daybreak Game Company and will also be a multi-platform company. This means that their future games will be available on PlayStation, Xbox, mobile, and other gaming platforms. The company is most known for their plethora of dynamite hits such as EverQuest, PlanetSide 2, and recently H1Z1. Players might fear what this will mean for their favorite SOE games, and the upcoming EverQuest Next. There is no need for alarm. Smedley has reassured that all games currently under SOE will transition over and will continue to run through Daybreak. This big change will actually give them more resources to put back into their games and furthermore, their community. Gamers should look forward with great anticipation as such a beloved company will now be able to focus solely on quality releases for a larger audience.

EverQuest 2 - One of SOE's Signature Games

Although the sale of Sony's iconic online games division came as a bit of a shock to the industry, not much is expected to change within the organization. In fact, being a standalone independent developer may give the newly formed Daybreak Game Company a better shot at competing in the industry.

Dear Players, Partners and Friends,

Today, we are pleased to announce that we have been acquired by Columbus Nova, an investment management firm well known for its success with its existing portfolio of technology, media and entertainment focused companies. This means that effective immediately SOE will operate as an independent game development studio where we will continue to focus on creating exceptional online games for players around the world, and now as a multi-platform gaming company. Yes, that means PlayStation and Xbox, mobile and more!

As part of this transition, SOE will now become Daybreak Game Company. This name embodies who we are as an organization, and is a nod to the passion and dedication of our employees and players. It is also representative of our vision to approach each new day as an opportunity to move gaming forward.

So what exactly does this mean for you? It will be business as usual and all SOE games will continue on their current path of development and operation. In fact, we expect to have even more resources available to us as a result of this acquisition. It also means new exciting developments for our existing IP and games as we can now fully embrace the multi-platform world we are living in.

Our games and players are the heart and soul of our organization, and we are committed to maintaining our portfolio of online games and pushing the limits of where we can take online gaming together.

Thank you for your continued support. See you in game!

The Team at Daybreak
