Ubisoft has kicked off a closed beta of sorts for its upcoming free-to-play PvP shooter XDefiant which will run until April 23rd.

The closed beta test will feature a new map for players to frolic in, an alpha version of the game’s ranked mode, player and weapon progression, and a new beta-exclusive rewards track. It’s worth noting that progress during the beta won’t carry over to the live game except for any goodies earned from the beta reward track.

The playtest is now live on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S for those who want to take the game out for a spin. To snag a beta key, interested testers simply need to simply register on the arena shooter’s official website or watch a partner stream for at least 30 minutes. The playtest won’t be covered by an NDA so expect to see a boatload of gameplay footage and screenshots pop up on the interwebs over the next week.
