WoW Legion: Prove Yourself Worthy In Norse-Inpsired Stormheim

Less than a week before World of Warcraft: Legion goes live on Tuesday, the development team gave players a bit of insight into the harsh and rugged land of Stormheim: a land of high cliffs, subterranean fortresses, Storm Dragons, and home of the fierce Vykrul. Players get to be the star of their very own Norse-inspired epic as they journey through this beautiful but unforgiving place. Hopefully, proving themselves worthy to majestic beings right out of Viking lore.

"We set out to capture a verdant, mid-height mountain landscape with heavy basalt rock formations enshrouded in the kind of mists that you would see on the underside of a heavy cloud bank.

The zone starts with a heavy, oppressive atmosphere, and gradually moves into more of a bright, golden, fall-like environment to lift the mood. Then it moves back into a heavier, repressive mood again.

We really tried to use the environmental changes to go hand-in-hand with the story for this zone. It also starts heavy and then really moves into a little bit lighter story, then back to heavy."

While it’s easy to get caught up in the main storyline, don’t forget to watch out for “Easter Eggs,” side quests, and grappling hooks. The dev team promises it’ll be worth your while.
