World Of Warcraft Classic’s Burning Crusade Launch A Success In Spite Of DDOS Attacks

Unlike most expansion launches, World of Warcraft expansions included, The Burning Crusade Classic’s launch went as smoothly as anyone could have hoped. There were no reports of outages or crashes and the extremely long queue times that the game has been known for was kept to a minimum.

Of course, the pre-patch likely helped keep the influx of players to a manageable level, but Blizzard did manage to keep things running as smoothly as possible while also fending off a DDOS attack. For that, they deserve a big pat on the back. They were, however, still forced to offer free character transfers for the more populated servers just to help keep queues in check.

Meanwhile, somebody has already reached the new level cap. Several somebodys in fact. According to Wowhead, a five-man group from the EU Firemaw server were the first to reach level 70, namely: Hacez, followed by Kennygodx, Dt, Nigoshima, and Kynmagetwo.

Finally, I leave you with a clip of World of Warcraft Classic players having some fun with the new flying mounts in Thrallmar.
