Wayfinder Teases A Much-Requested Feature Coming In This Week’s Update

Last week saw Airship Syndicate gain full control of Wayfinder when Digital Extremes relinquished its publishing rights to the early access title after its second round of layoffs and the dissolution of its external publishing arm. Even without a publisher and Tencent money to back them, it’s business as usual for Airship Syndicate who promised to take on both development and publishing responsibilities for the fantasy action MMORPG.

In fact, the studio is preparing to roll out the game’s next update this week which will include a much-requested feature that the team is keeping under wraps for now. The team will also be hosting a live Q&A session sometime in the next few days where they’ll talk about the current state of the game and their plans.

One of the questions that will undoubtedly come up during the Q&A stream is how Airship Syndicate plans to fund the game after Digital Extremes left them high and dry. In the meantime, account linking has been disabled while live service operations are being transferred to the studio with no timeline on when it will be restored.

“We have disabled account linking for cross save as we begin transitioning service,” tweeted Airship Syndicate. “Cross play, and players who have previously linked their accounts are able to continue to play with no disruption. We hope to bring this feature back in the future.”
