Dead Or Alive Creator’s New Studio Announces AAA NFT MMO ‘Warrior’

Dead or Alive creator, Tomonobu Itagaki, has founded a new studio called Apex Game Studios and announced that its already started on its first project – Warrior. The studio’s flagship title is a AAA fantasy MMO with creature-collecting and battling mechanics and, wait for it… NFTs.
Players will apparently go around collecting gacha-style “mob servants” that they can then summon to support them in battle or send off to go on their own adventures in a presumably separate island. Each of those critters is an NFT that, along with other in-game assets, can be traded or sold to other players using Warrior Diamond Token (WDT). The artwork below offers a preview of the various mob servants that will be available in the game.
Details are sparse at the moment as the official site only offers vague descriptions of the game while the press release focuses more on its Web3.0 and blockchain applications. “Warrior aims to solve the performance, security and sustainability issues of GameFi 1.0 and achieve a breakthrough in GameFi 2.0,” said Apex. “Based on the gameplay of AAA games, an excellent economic system is supported to maintain a long-lasting game cycle by completing the exchange of assets in the economic model through the activities of competition, battle and exploration in the game.”
“Warrior removes the ‘money game’ mode and is more accessible and profitable than traditional games,” the studio added. “Itagaki expressed that one of the main characteristics a blockchain game must have to succeed is to be a real game that is fun and attracts attention — precisely what his team wants to achieve with Warrior.”
Release and pre-sale of NFTs is expected to start in Q4 2022 with the beta and full release version of the game slated to arrive in Q1 2023.
