Warlander Launches Into Early Access And Is Immediately Besieged By Cheaters

If PvP castle sieges are your thing, then you’ll definitely want to check out Toylogic’s new entry into the genre, Warlander. The game launched into Early Access on Steam last week and combines elements from different PvP genres, including MOBAs, battle-royale, hack-and-slash, and 4X strategy games, into one action-packed and extremely competitive experience.
“Featuring intense competitive skirmishes and epic castle siege warfare with up to 100 players, you must use the almighty powers of god-like Warriors, Clerics, and Mages, as well as siege weapons and cataclysmic spells to control the battlefield,” reads the game’s description on Steam. “To be victorious, you must work as a team, defend your Keep, and tactically break into the enemy’s stronghold to destroy their core!”
Unfortunately, it looks like players are facing an invasion of a different kind as cheaters and hackers began laying siege to the game shortly after its launch. In response to the flood of player complaints, the developers have implemented anti-cheat measures, and made adjustments to the matchmaking system but to no avail as recent reviews still report rampant cheating in the game.
Players are also complaining about bugs, performance issues, the game’s business model, randomized items, and perk imbalance, among others, which has netted Warlander a “Mixed” review on Steam. But, the good news is that the game is free-to-play so you won’t have to invest anything except your time if you want to give it a spin.
