Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 Delayed By Up To A Year For More Polish

Focus Entertainment has delayed Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 by what could be a full year as the team needs more time to “properly polish the game and to ensure the best possible experience.” The co-op hack-n-slash shooter was originally scheduled to launch by the end of the year but has now been pushed back to the second half of 2024.
The decision to delay the game’s release might have something to do with the community’s lukewarm reception to last August’s extended gameplay trailer. It’s not exactly bad, but it didn’t turn heads either. Fans have also been waiting on the promised beta test since pre-registrations opened that same month but we’ve yet to hear from the developers even as the expected launch date loomed on the horizon.
Personally, I’m all up for delaying a game until it’s truly ready, rather than forcing a premature release at the expense of quality. A year’s delay, however, might be too long of a wait.
