War Escalates In Star Trek Online With The Release Of Season 13
Star Trek Online's thirteenth Season, Escalation, has officially gone live on PC. The new expansion brings with it new story content covering the war with the Tzenkethi, as well as a new competitive PvE mode, called War Games, which sees two players of five competing for various rewards.
Matchmaking for competitive modes has been improved due to a new system called the "Player Potential System." This system is intended to more accurately judge a player's skill "based on various factors, such as their characters’ equipment, specialization and participation in competitive matches."
The update also brings with it "a full rebalance pass" for both ground and space combat. The intention is "to ensure that no matter what choice captains make when outfitting their skills or ship, it isn’t a wrong one."
Additionally, Perfect World Entertainment is currently giving away an ocean view cabin on Star Trek: The Cruise II, which is worth over $3500. George Takei and a number of other stars will be aboard the ship during the cruise, which will take place over the course of six days in January 2018. The winner will also win a prize pack containing every single ship that is available in Star Trek Online's cash shop, totaling more than 150 ships.
