Console-Exclusive Extraction Shooter Vigor Launches Into Paid Early Access On Steam
Bohemia Interactive’s free-to-play extraction shooter Vigor is finally coming to PC after it first launched as an Xbox One-exclusive title. The game was ported over to PlayStation and Nintendo Switch in 2020 and will soon be making its way to Steam Early Access in May.
Vigor is set in a post-apocalyptic version of Norway in the 90s and offers a good mix between extraction, battle royale, and team-based shooter gameplay. The main game mode, Encounters, sends you off into unforgiving environments to scrounge for supplies and safely bring them back with you before a deadly radiation cloud covers the entire map.
You can take on the challenge as a lone wolf or team up with a friend as a duo. Both duos and solo players will be lumped together in the same match, so you better bring your A-game if you plan on queueing up on your own.

Resources collected from the Encounters mode can be used to build and upgrade your shelter, which will in turn give you access to better craftable weapons and consumables while also generating in-game currency and other useful materials.
If team-based shooters are more your speed, Vigor also features a 5v5 tactical round-based mode called Elimination and a fast-paced free-for-all deathmatch mode called Shootout.
While the game will be free-to-play on official launch, you’ll need to purchase the Reinforcements Pack to get into early access. The pack will set you back $19.99 and comes bundled with weapons, consumables, an exclusive outfit, and the Platform Pioneer title. Or, you can just wait for official launch three months after the game makes its early access debut on Steam.
