Victory Command Re-emerges As Battle Battalions

After a long hiatus following the end of beta for Petroglyph's RTS/MOBA hybrid, Victory Command, and its subsequent removal from Steam, the game silently re-emerged from the ether as Battle Battalions earlier this month. Battle Battalions is the spiritual successor to Victory Command and the culmination of Petroglyph's efforts to modify the game based on the feedback they received during Victory Command's beta days. It may share similarities to—and possibly even code from—Victory Command, but it is a separate entity and those who played Victory Command will not be getting their progress back. Petroglyph is working towards providing a bonus to all who own Petroglyph games, however, for once the game hits Steam.
Like Victory Command before it, Battle Battalions is a RTS/MOBA hybrid. Players engage in real-time combat—without base building—in a five-versus-five setting. Various capture points line each map, allowing teams to gain advantages by taking and holding them.
Battle Battalions is currently in Open Beta. Week 2 introduced real money transactions and Premium status, granted to all Beta players for this phase of testing. It also marked the end of server wipes.
