V Rising Introduces New Scheduled Server Wipes Feature

Among the things that MMO players dread the most is a server wipe. There’s nothing more frustrating than losing everything you’ve worked hard for in one fell swoop. V Rising, however, has just added a surprisingly highly-requested feature called Scheduled Wipes that’s designed to wipe the servers after a set amount of time so that everyone starts from scratch every so often.

Players worried about their meticulously built castles of doom disappearing in a puff of smoke will be happy to know that the new feature is entirely optional and will only be available on servers created after the patch was deployed. Existing servers, including the official ones, won’t have access to the feature although developer Stunlock Studios says that they’re planning to add official servers with Scheduled Wipes sometime in the near future.

With the new feature in place, the developers have also added new server list filter options to show only servers with Scheduled Wipes enabled. Servers with the option enabled will also show the number of days remaining until the next wipe.

Note that you’ll need to update your client to be able to play the game as older versions will no longer be compatible with the latest server version.
