Turns Out, Overwatch's Symmetra Is Autistic

In the interest of developing complex narratives for Overwatch's characters, Jeff Kaplan has revealed that Symmetra is on the autism spectrum.

Kaplan recently wrote a letter to a fan which said:

"I'm glad you asked about Symmetra. It was very astute of you to notice that she mentioned the spectrum in our comic. Symmetra is autistic. She is one of our most beloved heroes and we think she does a great job of representing just how awesome someone with autism can be."

Blizzard's design philosophy from day one was to create characters that incorporate elements of all people. At DICE Summit Kaplan had stated "We wanted there to be heroes that would be approachable for each person." And that has lead to the diverse cast of heroes we have today.
