Trials Of Ascension Kicks Off Another Kickstarter Campaign Under New Studio
A few years ago, indie development studio Forged Chaos launched a Kickstarter campaign for a permadeath sandbox MMORPG called Trials of Ascension, not once but twice, both of which failed miserably. The second Kickstarter campaign was cancelled when one team member decided to leave the studio because of poor decisions on the owners’ part and an overly-ambitious $600,000 Kickstarter campaign.
The game managed to launch into Steam Early Access on July 26th 2018 but has since been left for dead by the developers. Last fall, a team of players called Dragonfire Entertainment bought out the game with plans to reboot it and bring it back to life. After months of silence, the team has announced that they’re still working hard on the game and will be launching their own Kickstarter campaign to help fund the its development.
Dragonfire hopes to raise $10,000 that will go towards server operating costs, Unity tools and assets, employee salaries, as well as taxes and fees. Trials of Ascension is expected to launch by the end of this year.
