Last week’s fully-digital E3 convention featured a ton of new announcements, reveals, and trailers that it’s easy for some of them to go unnoticed. Once such trailer is the first-ever gameplay footage of upcoming co-op PvE survival MMO, Smalland.

Admittedly, this is the first time we’re hearing about the upcoming game which promises “a big adventure on a tiny scale!” Apparently, the game has been in development since 2018 by British indie studio Merge Games.

In Smalland, players take on the role of post-apocalyptic survivors that have returned to the surface of the Earth to find that they’ve been shrunk down to the size of insects while everything else stayed the same size. They must survive in a familiar but infinitely more challenging environment inhabited by all types of massive plants and creatures, including ants, cockroaches, lizards, and hornets. If you’ve watched Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, then you’ll probably have a good idea of what the game is about.

“Smalland is a big adventure on a tiny scale! Enjoy multiplayer survival in a vast, hazardous world. Preparation is key when you're this small, surrounded by massive creatures & at the bottom of the food chain. Craft weapons & armour, build encampments & explore a strange new land.”

According to the press release, Merge Games is looking to launch Smalland into Early Access sometime this year. The game is now available for wishlisting on Steam and Epic Games Store. In the meantime, you can check out the new trailer below for a glimpse of what the game has to offer.
