Last week, Ubisoft was forced to roll back weeks of character progress in The Division 2 because players were apparently gaining Expertise levels too fast in Season 9. The team admitted that they made a mistake in the amount of Proficiency Points that players gained from kills and that letting players keep their progress could have a significant effect on the long-term balance of the game.

The rollback also included any item and gear upgrades that done since the start of the season which Ubisoft will be compensating players for with SHD caches and upgrade materials. The team has already started giving out the caches and players should now be able to claim them through the in-game mail. Players will get to claim one cache for every 20 levels lost due to the rollback with each cache containing a set number of Blue, Green, and Grey materials, as well as Printer Filaments, Field Recon Data, SHD Calibration, and Exotic materials. Caches that exceed the inbox limit will be put in queue and can be claimed once inbox space is available.

Ubisoft has permanently raised the inventory cap for the materials to account for the bulk of materials that players will receive. That being said, players are still warned not to open all of the caches at once as all excess materials after hitting the cap will automatically be deleted.
