The ARK: Official Mods Program Wants To Make Mods Official Content

Studio Wildcard announced yesterday at PAX East that it is launching the ARK: Official Mods Program, a new initiative in which mods are made into official content. The first addition will be a map called The Center, which will be added in May. The Center features "tons of new biomes, dungeons, floating islands, end-of-the-world waterfalls, massive ancient ruins, along with other wonders to explore and secrets to find" and doubles the size of the world in the process.

The next mod to follow will be Primitive+, which is a mod that challenges players "to use only wood and stone without the benefit of advanced metals to create weapons such as guns." When added, it will be able to be used "as a functionality mod on all official ARK maps."
