TERA EU Is Merging Its Servers On August 30th

While En Masse Entertainment's TERA US is going strong with an average concurrent user count of ~2500 according to Steam Charts, Gameforge's TERA EU has a much lower average concurrent user count of only 415. You know what that means. Server merges are on the way.

On August 30th, TERA EU will merge down to a mere four servers—one PvP server, one English PvE server, one French PvE server, and one German PvE server. When servers merge, players will only be allowed to have 16 characters per server, so the true altoholics may need to delete some of their characters. Characters may also need renamed, with Gameforge noting that, in a situation where multiple players have the same name, the player that has the most time spent playing that character will likely be the one that gets to keep the name. I imagine this issue will be most prevalent on the new English PvE server, Mystel, as it will be an amalgam of four servers.
