Tencent's Strike of Kings Changes Name to Arena of Valor, Launching October 10th

Tencent's wildly successful 5v5 mobile MOBA Arena of Valor is launching in the U.S. after changing its name from Strike of Kings on October 10th. The game is known as "Honor of Kings" in China and is the world's highest grossing video game despite only being fully launched in China. The massiveness of Arena of Valor cannot be understated. The game earned a whopping $435M in a single month in April, 2017 and is on track to make well over $3B this year after earning $810M in the first quarter.

I've played a bit of Arena of Valor and it's a surprisingly fun game. I say surprising because I don't normally like mobile games, but Arena of Valor is incredibly fluid, fast paced, and fun. Time will tell whether it can reach the same levels of success in the West as it did in the East though.
