Temtem Devs Admit They’ve Fallen Behind On Development, Scraps Roadmaps Altogether
Around this time last year, nobody would have predicted what a challenging year 2020 was going to be. Neither did Temtem developer Crema Games when they revealed their 2020-2021 roadmap in February 2020. In their latest dev update, the team admits that they’ve fallen far behind with regard to the promised features and content and apologizes for the delay.
“We made the current roadmap right after our Early Access launch in February of last year—before we knew the sort of year 2020 was going to be—and while we’ve always stressed the fact that the roadmap was not set in stone, it certainly doesn’t match reality anymore. We’ve had to twist and change our plans quite a few times since the EA launch, sometimes because of good stuff, other times not so much. I’m sure you’ve all seen this happen a lot this year, and we understand this is disappointing for everyone (including us!). We’re really sorry.”
As far as roadmaps are concerned, Crema says that they’ll be doing away with it entirely and will be keeping the deadlines internal. “You’ve been asking us for an updated roadmap, and we’ve been thinking hard about it, but in the end, it just doesn’t feel like it would do justice to our vision for Temtem, and to you,” they added. “Closed dates add a lot of pressure and put another load on our shoulders, and we want to focus on delivering the highest quality content possible, and ship it when it’s ready.”
The team assures players, however, that they will be delivering everything on the original roadmap along with new unannounced content in between big updates. The most recent of these is the addition of postal service, wishing well, and dojo rematches, and fishing. As for the Cipanku update, the team says that they’re looking to launch the update by the end of March or the beginning of April.
“We cannot blindly keep on developing the game we had in mind at the beginning of all this. New islands are important, but we believe that so is providing new content in-between,” said Crema. “We hope these little surprises help make the wait between big updates a little more fun.”

Hey Tamers!
It's time for us to get real and talk difficult stuff.
As many of you know, our previous roadmap is now outdated and dates are no longer accurate, but here's the official, longer look into it, plus the first sight of the wondrous Cipanku:— Temtem 🌿 (@PlayTemtem) February 10, 2021
