Sword of Justice Opens Closed Beta Sign-Ups for North America

NetEase Games is bringing its wuxia-flavored MMO Sword of Justice to Western players for the first time through a North American closed beta that begins on September 26. PC and mobile users in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Brazil can register until September 16. While the game is available on mobile too, a dedicated PC client shows that Netease is serious about courting PC gamers.

The title mixes classic open-world MMO design with a historical China backdrop inspired by the Northern Song Dynasty. While NetEase is well-known in Asia for online hits such as Fantasy Westward Journey and Harry Potter: Magic Awakened, Sword of Justice marks one of the company’s bigger pushes to court Western MMO fans who have lately flocked to games like Black Desert Online and Naraka: Bladepoint. An emphasis on skill-based progression and cutting-edge graphics tech aims to set it apart from the crowded free-to-play market.

  • Platforms: PC and mobile, with cross-play planned for launch.
  • Visual tech: path tracing on PC and ray tracing on supported phones, paired with a dynamic weather system.
  • Progression: seasonal resets and strict stat caps to minimize pay-to-win pressure.
  • Setting: an open world modeled on 12th-century China, packed with faction PvP, martial-arts combat and branching narrative choices.
  • AI NPCs are designed to remember player interactions, offering shifting routines and responses that influence quests and alliances.

This beta is the first chance for Western players to test the game’s ambitious feature set, and feedback from the event will help shape the worldwide launch planned for PC, iOS and Android.
