Street Warriors Online Is An 8v8 PvP Fighting Game On The Corner

Street Warriors Online launched onto Steam recently, and it's a bit of an oddball title. It's an 8v8 PvP brawler that touts a dynamic combat system in round based battles. While I expected the charm of West Side Story what I see in the trailer is slabs of meat smacking into each other.

That's alright.

It is a free-to-play title on Steam so if you have any interest now is the time to install, since game population's are always at their peak on Day 1. Despite a few hundred players playing, reports from the community suggest that matchmaking has been having issues. A hotfix has been added as of today so the queue time should be minimized now.

But, it turns out if you pay for SWO—by purchasing the $9.99 DLC—you'll have faster matchmaking times. While not pay-to-win, it's a funny way to inspire sales. At least the development team admits to it:
